YOUTH PRINT ARCHIVE CO-OPERATIVE

Established in 2026, the Youth Print Archive Co-op (YPAC) is an anti-profit, collectively-contributed archive of youth underground print material: zines, posters, pamphlets, paper objects, and the like. 

All* contributions are published, and all contributions are written directly by their creators. All we do is copy/paste those contributions to this site. 

The aim of this archive is to assist in cultivating a free, open-access network of print activity amongst youth participating in art, music and political organizing across the U.S.A. and beyond. The hope is that this archive aids in the cross-pollination of ideas--that it helps folks find each other for collaboration, inspiration, and friendship.

Description:
as Pearl Street Co-Op Historian, part of my job was to create newsletters each semester documenting the house goings-on. These took several different forms, from monthly leaflets to digital zines, but for my final issue before passing the torch, I chose to go entirely physical, handwriting and collaging printed materials found within the house as well as utilizing my child-sized receipt-paper printer camera. This project was especially meaningful as several of my dearest friends and beloved housemates were moving away, both to other areas of Austin and to adventures across the globe. Summer at Pearl is smaller and more intimate than the rest of the year, filled with close-knit nights and sunny days spent breathing one anothers' air, dancing and singing and smoking and laughing and complaining and looking around in wonder thinking, "how did I get so lucky?" The day we sent our beloved Stella on a plane back to the UK, we wept and got matching star-shaped tattoos, and I handed her a copy of the newsletter for her to read on her journey. It's so strange to live how we do, and so painful, but god is it beautiful. I hope this captures a bit of what that moment felt like, a transmission from some wacked-out gay hippie frat full of asbestos. Don't read Reese's letter if you have ever loved something and had to leave it (unless you want to cry). Hire her for all your writing/acting needs.
